Keeping expectations low, this wide ranging monologue sets the frame for the next series of conversations - this time focused on the philosophy and culture of our times. Music still plays a key in this episode, as it has in the past. Pay attention to the lyrics for clues. "Dime" Song and Lyrics by Cake In the brown shag carpet of a cheap motel In the dark and dusty corner by the TV shelf Is a small reminder of a simpler time When a crumpled up pair of trousers cost a brand new dime Well you ask me how I made it through and how my mint condition could belong to you When I'm on the ground I roll through town I'm a president you don't remember getting kicked around I'm a dime I'm fine And I shine I'm freshly minted I am determined not to be dented By a car or by a plane or anything not yet invented I'm a dime I'm fine And I shine In the hiss and rumble of the freeway sounds As the afternoon commuters drive their cars around There's a ringle jingle near the underpass There's a sparkle near the fast food garbage

  • JoAnn DeVries - Fresh Outlook Foundation

    16/11/2018 Duration: 01h29min

I am so happy to say that JoAnn and I found time to sit down together. I have been overwhelmed with the generosity of this community. The Okanagan Region is so blessed to have as many dedicated people contributing to the work as we do. I am uploading this episode on a special night. Thanks to the leadership team of the OSLC (Okanagan Sustainability Leadership Council) who spearhead it's formation 6 months ago, I was privileged to be in the room on an important night. We have our board members in place, and have commited to moving forward as a not-for-profit Society in the province of BC. If it were up to me, I'd mark this day for future generations. This was a moment. A day when many individuals representing many communities across the region came together, as one. To express the need to consider an alternative way ahead. And apply the sort of consideration and care that is missing from so many of our most important agreements.

  • Taking the Pulse in Community

    03/03/2018 Duration: 01h49min

Sometimes life is like a journey through a land of dreams and make belief. Lofty Muse explores that journey and we want to take that adventure with you! Today's episode is about the transformational practice of floating, and we'll be learning firsthand from an expert. Six years ago, Dustin Erickson experienced a watershed moment in his life when he entered the float tank. Emerging on the other side, he decided never to live his life staring in the rear view mirror again. It hasn't been an easy road but now, after nearly four years of owning the first float center in B.C. outside of the lower mainland, it may be time for a change. This is our first interview at Lofty Muse, so it's one for the books. Thanks for being a part of the story Dustin!
